Omega 3’s And Inflammation (Part II, Continued)

Just as a quick reminder, we left off yesterday talking about inflammations, and it’s direct cause to pain and illness within our communities. So what is the real issue, besides that the fact that it don’t feel so good?
Since the Time Magazine article “The Secret Killer”, a great deal more research has been under taken, and it has been established that inflammation is indeed at the base of every diet-related disease and the captain of the ship behind the rise in 3 out of 4 of us being either in pain, depressed, or battling a disease. That’s not so bad really, unless you also realize that a short 2 years ago, the statistic was a mere 2 out of 3.
So why hasn’t our nation taken action? Well, behind the scenes, in their own capitalistic way, it has. Food manufacturers took hold of this new information and quickly began adding Omega 3 to their labels. There has been a significant rise in the sales of food products labeled Omega 3. There is even a study (cause America LOVES a “study”) that offers suggestions to retailers on ways they can increase their sales by the addition of Omega 3 to their products and their labeling. By 2011, it is estimated that retail sales of foods and beverages infused with Omega 3 will climb to more than $7 billion. However, beware of the label that states it’s inclusion of Omega 3 or EPA and DHA with ingredients stating seed oil. These products are actually adding more to your body that it does not need.
As I go through more and more information is has become obvious that there is a whole of lot of nasty fish potions out there that claim to do the job. They don’t, but unfortunately there is just not enough information for the public to consume to make them informed buyers. The Food and Drug Administration allows for the labeling on products to boast the inclusion of Omega 3’s, but only the foods that contain EPA or DHA can claim any heart benefits. Just remember, if they claim EPA and DHA, but list seed oil as the source or ingredient, it is NOT what you want to add to your diet.
Another tell tale that you are taking the wrong product is the presence of burping or indigestion. As this fact came to light, manufacturers started adding “burpless” to their fish oil labels. A group of “flavored” Omega 3 products have begun to grace the shelves, but along with the prescription fish oil Omacor, their have still been incidents of indigestion and burping.
Yet another issue to be aware of is the TYPE of fish that the fish oils are being drawn from. Research clearly informs us that the oil of the fatty fish, such as sardines, anchovies, salmon, and mackerel contain higher level of the EPA and DHA that promote a change in our health.
I can hear your screaming, and I totally understand. Here is a possible solution to your pain and sickness (or that of a loved one, friend, or associate), but there are so many wanna be’s how can you be sure you are getting the “right stuff”? Well first of all, as I’ve already mentioned, if you are burping or experience indigestion, through it back in the sea.

So, another tell tale to the quality of the quality, you get what you pay for. To expect the proper quality and purity, you should also expect the source of the fish and the process to be reflected in the cost of the product, or the manufacturer will be going out of business very soon. Look for pure, liquid fish oil that you can see, taste and feel the texture of. While it’s common to add lemon herb flavoring, be cautious with products that offer flavors that might mask unpleasant odors.
Pure, quality fish oil is a miracle to our health. As our bodies begin to balance out from the overabundance of seed oil, pain leaves as excessive inflammation comes under control. Blood pressure and cholesterol readings return to low numbers quickly. Your face will look years younger in a few short weeks as will the skin throughout your body. Brains come alive as they are finally being fed the fatty acids they need. And the most amazing benefits reported is a loss of a few pounds. If you are getting these results, you have your hands on a good product.
This isn’t hard to understand or believe for we were physiologically designed to eat a lot of fish. Not a few servings a week, as a daily staple. When we finally do so, our bodies respond in the most amazing ways.
